David Kahn

President and Co-Owner of Paris Basketball with Eric Schwartz, David Kahn started his basketball career as a journalist at the Portland Oregonian and at NBC Sports; then as a lawyer at Proskauer, the NBA’s
outside law firm; and then as a high-ranking NBA team executive.

Kahn spent nine years (1995-2004) with the Indiana Pacers, where he led the team’s new arena project and oversaw the day-to-day operations of basketball, business and the arena; and then four years (2009-13) with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he was the President of Basketball Operations.

Passionate about European basketball, Kahn in 2017 began working on an ambitious project: the creation of Paris Basketball. With the help of the Mairie de Paris and Ligue National de Basket, Kahn has led the effort to put Paris Basketball on the European basketball map. In just 43 months, the club has entered into a long-term contract to be the exclusive resident club at the under-construction arena at Porte de la Chapelle, and ascended from the second division to the first division of the LNB. The Paris Basketball brand is now arguably the second-strongest brand in French basketball.

While managing the Paris Basketball project, Kahn continues to teach sports business and sports law courses at New York University.
